How do you know for sure that he'd care? Besides, for all we know, mikelom might be a woman.

I've got as far as question 4:

4. Do you live with any mammalian pets?
Yes, pets often make great company/ I'm mostly satisfied without pets
I do, but pets just aren't a subsitute for humans...
No, even mammalian non-humans are very unlike me
No, but I'm thinking about getting one

and I'm already thinking "load of BS", there is clearly a wide gulf between answers three and four so how can the result be accurate if I have to choose one or the other?

What a stupid dumb ass questionare
They must've heard your complaint. I'm taking the test now and here's question 4.

Sorry, didn't see huck's post (but I may go and rec it!)

This one has me even more annoyed:

12. Do you believe that through meditation (or a similar practice) you will someday be able to feel cheerful and at home within the world and yourself?
Yes! how can one feel sad or alone with a clear and contented mind?
Not likely, because I doubt I'll have the discipline to practice enough
No, I would be too afraid of losing the person I am
Maybe; I need to learn more about meditation or find some people who practice

There's an answer missing: How about 'I've never meditated in my entire life but I do feel cheerful and at home within the world and myself.'

Edit: Well I did until I started doing this dumb questionnaire. 😀

It's a test to determine which vendors should contact you via email!

Yup, they sale your email address based on what they think you might pay money for. Lonely, single people will suddenly get all kinds of spam about meeting someone.

This one is rather strange, too:

27. Do you ever read as a substitute for company?
- Yes, books are much trustier than people
- Sure, but only if I feel like taking a break from other people
- I read, but I want real people in my life, not imaginary characters
- Often, but things will improve

And I never knew that sleep might be used as a substitute for company. Weird stuff.

Well I've been given this:

Optimistic Socialite
You scored 49 Socially Involved, 11 Alienated, 53 Contented and 50 Optimistic
You're not fully socially contented, but you're nonetheless optimistic that things will improve. And given your extraversion and the fact that you don't heavily suffer from alienation, you're probably correct.

Considering how many questions I didn't feel any of the answers were adequate for, it's not surprising it seems somewhat noncommital and contradictory.

Edit: And I have recced huck's post even though he misspelt questionnaire. 😉

I hate things like these but i always do them!

You appear somewhat socially discontented and not highly social, yet you're not deeply alienated to others, yourself, or your world. Your low alienation score and moderate contentment score indicate that you're probably alienated in some particular yet critical sense, as opposed to in general. So, you're probably not all that lonely and therefore probably have reason to be a little more optimistic that better things will come your way.

Something to look forward to then

It insisted I give it a log in name in order to see the results, so I logged in as "fiddlesticks". Then when it asked for my email address I gave it the one I use for all junk email. It then came back and said I needed to enter a REAL email address! 😳

So I typed it in again (must've had a typo earlier)... BUT THEN it came back and said "fiddlesticks" was already a member! Cause it had logged the name when I typed it before!

Needless to say, when I gave it a different name, "fiddlesticks2" it would not show me the test results cause that had been filed under "fiddlesticks" with a bogus email address! 😠

Grrrrr... I won't be taking the test again!

I got the result without giving any log-in name or email address.

You're not highly socially contented, but you're confident that you'll get there eventually. You don't appear very social, and this may be natural for you, perhaps a gift even. My suggestion is to be patient and not worry much about past failures or missed opportunities, as the low ...[text shortened]... tor that you have the potential to meaningfully connect with others.
