Also no landline and currently no mobile. I do have electricity, running water and a beastly intenet connection.
Originally posted by NordlysI have an aquarium that makes a better substitute for a TV, as far as I'm concerned. It can also double as a washing machine in a pinch.

Originally posted by Bad wolfGosh, BW, the thread is about those who don't have TV and you have 8 (plus 5 computers!). WOW. What does this have to do with anything?
I have at least 8 TVs in my house, on top of that, 5 computers...2 laptops, I'm not sure if any of the computers have TV cards in them though, we have Freeview, and Sky, big waste of money as far as I'm concerned. 😳

Sounds fishy to me.
No TV service here. I really only miss watching Major League Baseball, especially the playoffs. I did break down and buy an antennae in time for the super bowl. Glad I did. Otherwise I'm not tempted in the least to turn it on. RHP, NPR, online news and espn.com give me everything I want to know about the outside world.

Originally posted by Grampy BobbyThis is interesting - our govt. mandated a shutdown 31 Dec 2008, has just extended it to 2011. The price of a set-top box has been steadily falling and is now less than $50. Since US consumer prices are usually w-a-y cheaper than ours, they should only cost about $30 there anyway. So unless your STB sellers are a bunch of crooks it should sort itself out.
Anyone in the know about the 'mandatory conversion' to digital recently hinted at in USA Media??
