@torunn saidAs a rule I'll play anyone, perhaps when I get my game total lower, I may try a few games with him. I play the board not the rating. At least I try to do that! 😉
Even if we lose, it can still be a good game, but losing too often is no good. If Earl is too strong for you, he certainly is for me, but the games are always nice.
EDIT: If only the Clan Rating was not included in all games, but that has already been voted down by the majority. One winds up getting accused for sandbagging when they are actually not.

@very-rusty saidDo so. He is a much experienced player from what I have learned, I will always be a beginner.

@torunn saidRatings go up and down I was once 1669 in over the board games and played in week-end tournaments back in the early to mid 90's. In my case I think Medical issues rather than age had took it down. I also don't take the games on here as serious with the exception of my Clan games which I try not to blitz, but not always successful at. It is different playing for fun and having others depend on your games which is the situation I've been in many times over the years.

Well, I "disappear" for a bit and the place becomes a battleground. Where's my apron? Oh there it is. OK now let's see. Ah yes, here ya go RR a lager right? Who's next. Oh I almost forgot, the Mini golf course is now open. Just head through the door with the midget with the club in their hand. There is a mini beer cart there too with "pint sized" drinks available...enjoy and remember "NO HITTING THE BALL TOO HARD, it is, after all, a mini course.
@great-big-stees saidGood to see you. And a nice mini golf course too, not at all easy - should be a challenge to all mini golf lovers.

@torunn saidWell as luck would have it I am, in about 15 minutes, heading to our local golf course for a "real" round of golf, a bonus round, as we had snow earlier in the week and most has gone and the sun is out and the temp is a "balmy" 5C at the moment heading to 8-9C. Please everyone be nice to each other till my return.

@great-big-stees saidRather you were here or not would have changed nothing, don't be hard on yourself. 😉

@great-big-stees saidExcellent. I'll definitely play minigolf as well. You would love the courses in New Brighton. One of the two courses has holes that are replicas of famous holes from golf courses round the world. Amazing how much time has gone into that course.

@relentless-red saidI think mini golf can be a very sociable family game.

@torunn saidIt's definitely family game for us. My kids are adults, but still want to go over and play when we are all together.

@torunn saidAh ha. Experienced lol. you might say that.

I can take on new players but not right now. maybe new years. hope your tourney games are going well. i'll peek in on them once in a while
@earl-of-trumps saidThank you, I keep making the same kind of mistakes. I think that if we don't feel the urge to win, we won't win. A lost piece here, a lost piece there - that is not the right attitude. 🙂

@torunn saidSometimes losing a piece is more than an improper attitude, ya know?

You do fine, Torunn

@torunn saidI think it is more of a social event for you than actually looking to learn anything torunn.

@very-rusty saidI played my best chess here some years ago. My games are very unsociable but the forums are. After my tournaments are done, there will only be a couple of friendly games. And you are right, I'm not trying to learn more about chess, those days are gone, but I still learn about life.
