Sorry, Gerty, but it seems this once-respectable establishment has gone to seed.

I'm nearly of a mind to open a competing, subtly posher, but obviously classier business across the street, but people are so wild and unruly, impolite and uncultivated these days that it seems unlikely there would be enough suitable and willing people in Nameless City to staff both our venues correctly, enticingly, and responsibly.

But I don't have the Angels and VCs that you seem to have, so it's really not much for you to be concerned about.

Sorry again for this frank outburst. It's -- it's just that I care about this Tavern and the people who come here, and the people who used to come here.

If the current economic downturn has forced you to pander to riff-raff just to keep the lights on, then I suppose I should try to be more understanding and less deprecating.

Sorry again -- and I know that apologies often do little to soften harsh words.
