Its' an insane vote it seems: who is it that thinks the phantom menace is even remotely as good as Attacj of the clones? Itself not exactly a gold-medal winner.
I'm thinking there's a few "George is god" types giving 10 points to all films thus skewing the stats.
As with all good additions to the site, I just end up feeling greedy: I want more info! Medians, modes, deviations, lists of who voted and in what way (an open vote, as opposed to a closed vote). Then a little voice speaks in the back of my head "pity poor Russ" and then I feel guilty for my greed. Typical.
I think a big factor in why IV and V were so good, and the others haven't come up to scratch is...Darth Vader. Ever since he took off his helmet in VI, all things Star Wars have just gone to seed. It's no co-incidence that those bloody Ewok teddy bears appeared about the same time. who designed those things, Jim Henson? Star Wars needs a decent bad guy - Darth Maul just didn't have the same presence. And the emperor is much more interesting than his former senatorial self. That's why i have hope that III will be good: Annakin will become Darth Vader, the senator will become the emperor, and all will be well...
that's what i hope, anyway...
