@very-rusty saidI have no grudge against you either, Rusty. It's all part of a day's banter.
Indeed you made me laugh that time, but you are usually more of a serious nature.
Suzie Q & goad are quite funny all the time!!! I don't really know if they try to be but that is how it comes across. π
Nothing personal against you moon, I think most like you!

He's like the tooth chipping kernel at the bottom of your box of Cracker Jacks. You hate that he's there, but the rest of the box is too good to stop nibbling.

@divegeester saidEJ's music by Taupin is timeless. I still listen.
I like its use here by Taupin:
It's getting late, have you seen my mates?
Ma tell me when the boys get here
It's seven o'clock and I want to rock
Want to get a belly full of beer
My old man's drunker than a barrel full of monkeys
And my old lady she don't care
My sister looks cute in her braces and boots
A handful of grease in her hair
Don't give ...[text shortened]... Saturday, Saturday
Saturday, Saturday, Saturday
Saturday, Saturday,
Saturday night's alright
The later stuff, from the 80s mostly, is sweety-stiff like an old stick of Juicy Fruit gum.

Majored in Communications, I'm guessing.
You understand your native language about as well as you understand me, which is not at all.

@suzianne saidSwedish has a new word for occasions where gender (han/hon - he/she) is either unknown or irrelevant. Instead of saying 'han/hon', we should now use 'hen' referring to both. That also goes for object pronoun 'honom/henne' and possessive pronoun 'hens'.

@torunn saidBack in the day, some posters here tried using xe for he/she, but it never took off. I imagine this was influenced by other languages/cultures that do have a gender-neutral pronoun, like Swedish and Norwegian, I think.

On the other hand, some people do it to insult, since the now accepted method is to simply call people as they wish, especially in North America, whose languages are without gender-neutral pronouns. (Well, except for 'it', but I know of no one who would rather be called 'it'.)
