When my oldest son was 6 he asked me that and I replied "Because the grass is green". And then he asked why the grass was green and I said "Because the sky is blue".
The actual color of the sky is not blue, it is omly a human perception.

What would I see if I could travel faster than the speed at which the universe is expanding? Once I reach the edge of the universe, if I "floor it", exceeding the speed of the universe's expansion, what'll I behold on the other side?
