I heard today that I’ve contributed to the UK power stations' electricity output being the lowest since 1994 by using low energy light bulbs. 🙂

@drewnogal saidWouldn't candles do even better? Oh wait "carbon", right? 🤔

@great-big-stees saidYea but not as bad as a vehicle... Although it will not be long before everyone is driving an electrical vehicle. They are already out on the market.

@very-rusty saidA word of advice regarding a candle Rusty. Always carry one in your car be it electric or fuel as it can keep you warm overnight if you break down in snowy conditions.

@drewnogal saidI have a survival kit with lots of goodies in it including food and a blanket which will keep me warmer than the candle! 😉 I have taken early retirement so don't have to travel in snowy conditions, but one can always get caught out especially where I live. Storms can come up unexpectedly.

@great-big-stees saidMy multi fuel stove is even better; free seasoned wood from my local roadside, free soft lighting, free warmth and free hot water in the kettle. Today I also finished preparing a soup on it and cooked a piece of frozen cod.

@very-rusty saidI’m sure you do. Who do I think I am telling a Canadian how to survive in the wild?? Bet you keep a supply of chocolate too?

I did once carry a shovel, wellies and a blanket during a snowy winter here.

@drewnogal saidWell too much chocolate is not good for you. I use to do some trapping as a teenager snaring rabbits. I wouldn't have any problems surviving in the woods. 😉 I would sooner not get caught out there though without at least a 22 rifle.
