I put Northern Comfort in Chai and sometimes in breakfast tea.

Breakfast tea as in the tea you have for breakfast, or breakfast tea as in English Breakfast tea? I don't normally drink tea for breakfast (I don't like warm stuff in the morning), but I have sometimes had English Breakfast tea. With Northern Comfort, of course.

Are the messy masses over, or haven't they started yet?

Northern Comfort with English Breakfast Tea. One Mass down, one to go -- complete with more ashes. Generally I drink coffee at home before work and check my games and such. Then at work I have tea. I'd much rather have a caffeine IV, but I can't find one and I hate needles.

Well if you need more ashes maybe I should show up and burst into flames.

What kind of silly ritual and materials are involved in generated the "holy ashes"?

They burn the palms that were used the previous Palm Sunday. Oh, plus the occasional unrepentent sinner who bursts into flames spontaneously. Usually people fight for those ashes. πŸ˜‰

Ashes? Oh, right, I guess it's what we call "Aschermittwoch" in Germany (something like "Ash Wednesday" ) today. But what do you do with the ashes?

Edit: Gah, I am faaaaaaar too late. 😞

I burned my palm the other day taking a pan out of the oven.

I was brought up Catholic so I suppose I should have known the answer. Now I'm an ultra-radical atheist (i.e. flammable)

They smear them on your forehead, if I remember correctly.
