Before the "!" icon was substituted, it used to say "alert moderator" and was located at the lower part of the post instead of the top. It's basically a message link to the forum moderators.

When you click it, you are given the opportunity to discuss that particular post with a moderator. That's all it does.

So it's not really going to flush anything unless there is a problem and then the moderator does the flushing.
That was just my humorous way of describing it.

If you do click on one of them everyone will probably hate you, but go ahead, give it a try.
Just click on one of mine, because I hate everyone already so it won't matter!
