Anyway.....
I never knew it would become a life lesson at the time but it did. Many of my so called "friends" at the time no longer would associate with me after that soley based on my appearance.
I was still the exact same person, so why the change in attitide I wondered. To me it was only hair and it grew back quickly (and healthier!)
There is a distinction - perhaps they thought you were a nice, stable predictable person and doing crazy things like shaving your head was just too weird for them?

Actually, that brings along another point. Maybe it appeared to them that mokko was "testing" them by her behaviour which they probably objected to. Even if mokko did not intend it this way.

An ex-girlfriend of mine used to treat her friends like crap every now and again. I berated her for it, to which she replied that she likes to test her friends by being awful to them periodically. Those who eventually forgave her had somehow proved that they were "real friends". It seemed obvious to me that she wanted a load of saps as friends that she could boss about and, funnily enough, that's exactly what she got. Also, funnily enough, they were all men - women would not put up with her behaviour.
