About 6 weeks to go?
No excuse not to get to a good site with totality passing right across America.
It's epic. I urge Americans to try and see this.

I went to Cornwall for the '99 eclipse in England which was
marred by clouds but still awesome. Almost Spiritual!

I remember a total solar eclipse in the 50' - I was told to use a dark piece of glass, as I didn't have sun-glasses. It felt very dramatic and we didn't hear any birds during those moments, all was quiet.

Sometimes I yearn for that...total quiet. Then I remember that I will have it, eventually, for a very long time. 😉

How are you thinking you're going to enjoy it?

I think maybe that's what he means - total quiet is not something we should be looking forward to. Or am I wrong, Stees?

Don't think so. Runs across US from coast to coast.

If I travelled half way round the earth to see some cloudy UK weather and some accompanying peculiar low light, I'd be tempted to find it spiritual too.

Googled it, appears that only the US is getting a total eclipse but others, including Ireland will have a partial eclipse... now we just need a cloudless sky.

London to Cornwall is a jaunt but not half way round the world!
Emigrated in 2010. 😀

Ah, he shapes it just so people will be fooled into thinking we live on a sphere. Wondered about that. Obvious when you think about it, eh.
