are you stating from fact? or just guessing,? My Dad use to catch wasp, hold his breath and chase his sisters. try it somtime, get a wasp put it on your arm, you'll see it trying to sting, but it cant, I dont know how it works, but it does, (at least to my family,)
I think there is a bit of an old wive's, or husband's tale (pc), going around here. From what I've heard, CO2 tends to irritate wasps. Probably part of their defensive mechanism, they get more offensive when in a higher CO2 atmosphere, ie around big lumpy dumpy things that can squash them. Not sure if there is any truth in this but it definately sounds more informed than ' Your skin is inpenetrable to something that will otherwise always pierce it, if you stop a process that is totally separate'.
