Aha. It doesn't work with hornets though. They are more intelligent in that they tickle you under your arms first, and when you laugh, then they sting you. Aha.

Actually.. I think the theory is that wasps are attracted to your breath, and if you don't breath, they won't be attracted to you., but I don't think it matters for stinging.

Earth wasps sting regardless of your breathing habits. Which planet do you come from?

Apparently, there's a least one guy out there on the Web who agrees.

I think there is a bit of an old wive's, or husband's tale (pc), going around here. From what I've heard, CO2 tends to irritate wasps. Probably part of their defensive mechanism, they get more offensive when in a higher CO2 atmosphere, ie around big lumpy dumpy things that can squash them. Not sure if there is any truth in this but it definately sounds more informed than ' Your skin is inpenetrable to something that will otherwise always pierce it, if you stop a process that is totally separate'. Who says the process is seperate? PPl told me that when you hold your breath it closes the pores in your skin

Don't think they need the help of pores to sting you. They just jab it straight in.

I could if I cared to be.

But I can't, so I'm not.
