Welcome back old friend... but I'd like to make a point here. Mateulose was banned because he kept flaming other members. However, at the bottom of every page is the site's rules for posting and it explicitely states: "Please refrain from spamming, flaming or using excessively offensive language on this board."

So I am now challenging the moderators to enforce their own ruling!

I agree that ANYONE who abuses other people in the forum discussions AND attacks their character should suffer the same fate as mateulose. And this message especially goes out to no1maurader, who has continually attacked the character (not the subject) of people posting their personal opinion.

There is more to it than just flaming other members. He started a clan with a clearly offside name, and apparently it also had an objectionable description.

This is crap,he wasn't banned for flaming people,and you can't compare him to no1.since he may be ''contumelious'' but knows the limits of what can be posted and what cannot.

Mateulose was banned from forums for 3 days,some months ago,for accusing the top player here of cheating.
Then he got banned a week ago,for a week,for continuosly posting in forums cheating accusations and offensive language.
Today ,after the one-week ban ended,he started to post again about cheats and had the great idea of starting a clan named ''Bastard and Bitc*es''.

This is begging for being banned,in my opinion.

I don't know if I agree with you or not. #1 is more entertaining and can argue a point better than mat, but he does flame a lot. He's definitely more popular than mat. He doesn't accuse people of cheating nearly as much if at all.

When russ asked people to stop accusing in the forums and said it would warrant a ban, No1marauder stopped. Matelose continued, there's the difference.

Russ is the author of his own demise to a certain extent. He asks for accusations in the forumae to be curtailed under threats of a suspension and for the proof of cheating to be sent via the 'feedback' facility. But nothing happens - no response - no empowerment of the games mods - no action. So we have to go back to the forums to publicise this and so too force his hand. And I am going to shortly with some very public accusations - and proof to boot! Time to divvy up Russ!

let's get a few things straight:

1. this site wouldn't exist without Russ.
2. he is within his rights to request people to desist from publicly accusing other players of cheating. there is an alternative mechanism in place. if you think this alternative mechanism is ineffective, then say why. if the only reason is that people you accuse privately aren't banned, then bad luck. in courts of law people are sometimes acquitted too. libel laws are in place to stop people from unfairly damaging other peoples' reputations. not only is Russ within his rights in making his request, it is actually a sensible one, since public accusations - often groundless - hurt people and detract from the cohesiveness of the RHP community.
3. if you do go ahead with your threat of making public accusations, i hope Russ enforces the suspension. i also hope you will rethink the matter and not make these accusations.
4. the standard of proof required for banning someone for engine use or other forms of cheating should be set quite high, i believe. perhaps not quite high as 'beyond reasonable doubt' but higher than 'balance of probability'. so it is reasonable to expect all but the most blatant cases to be acquitted. but acquittal should be the end of the matter. you should not be free to conduct a public vendetta just because you did not get your way.

Here's some flaming: Kiss my a**, Arrakis. To call for my ban takes a lot of gall esp. from someone who would put an obvious and blatant cheat on his clan league team, defend him for weeks until FINALLY Russ booted him on the same evidence many of us had presented in these forums for months! Incredible. It's pathetic if you are named to the Game Mods after such a performance AND after being rejected by the great majority of the people who voted. I've never received a single minute of a forum ban and I stay strictly within the rules of this site AND I don't associate with known cheaters like you did. If you hadn't had the nerve to ask me to support your candidacy for the Game Mods I probably wouldn't even have said anything about it, but your incredible arrogance really frosted my a**.

And BTW Mr. Chess Expert who thinks there's something wrong with the RHP rating system 'cuz he can't reach 2000, I still hold a nice 4-2-2 edge over your overrated and egotistical self. Well, we can rule out spamming and excessively offensive language
for no1marauder, so I have to imagine that you feel that he flamed you.

The way I understand flame is an unmitigated attack on another poster,
usually irrational. No1marauder has not done this. He has criticized your
judgement in a particular matter and, on the basis of his observations
opined that you were unfit for being a 'cheat moderator.' You never
adequately addressed any of his concerns (or mine) and were rather
unrepentant about that fact.

The criticism that you received was both just and warranted; as such,
you were never flamed by no1marauder. And, as such, the moderators
never failed in their duty to remove posts that ought not stay.

No1marauder is nothing like mateulose.

I have requested that your post be deleted and that you be reinstructed on posting etiquette. I could have asked that you be banned, as you should be... but perhaps you just need a good slap in the face?

Do his remarks justify your name-calling and threats of violence? In Hockey, they call roughing penalties on the retaliation more often than the original infraction. If you really want to see him banned, posts like this won't help your cause.

Personally, I think the only "gang" no1marauder is fit to lead is a transvestite chorus line. But that's only my opinion...

So I see you have trouble distinguishing an attack on your views from an attack on your person.
No1marauder is quite within his rights to attack your arguments and views and your qualifications for the cheat police. If he was to say start personally insulting you like say I don't know by calling you a jerk that may be considered flaming.
Otherwise it's just arguing.
