Actually now, I'm listening to HEY, by the Pixies. What an awesome somg
Which just made me think...what are my favorite albums? Well, off the top of my head:
Pink Floyd's DSOTM, The Wall, Animals, Wish You Were Here (I probably didn't even need to mention these, they're on almost everybody's list...)
Nirvana - Nevermind
The Pixies - Doolittle
Radiohead - The Bends, OK Computer (Kid A's pretty good too)
The Flaming Lips - Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots (The Soft Bulletin is also excellent)
Modest Mouse - Pretty much everything, won't bother to list all of them, Lonesome Crowded West is my favorite
Neutral Milk Hotel - In The Aeroplane Over The Sea
Animal Collective - Strawberry Jam

I liked some of their songs in the 80s, but I'm really digging on much of their music again.
Frank Black - could out scream Cobain

Is it MGMT?
Where is my mind?

Radiohead - The B ...[text shortened]...
Neutral Milk Hotel - In The Aeroplane Over The Sea
Animal Collective - Strawberry Jam
My favorites are as follows:
Meat Puppets - Meat Puppets II (Huevos is also pretty great, plus it has funky artwork. 🙂).
Guster - Keep it Together/Lost and Gone Forever/Ganging Up on the Sun (Probably my second favorite band, behind Meat Puppets)
Nirvana - In Utero/Unplugged (Nevermind is fantastic, and widely considered better, but In Utero is easier to listen to all the way through. Where as on Nevermind, you have to deal with Smells Like Teen Spirit, which I hate)
The Killers - Hot Fuss
Neil Young - Harvest (Excellence)
Foo Fighters - The Colour and the Shape (Their best)
Yes - The Ladder
Alkaline Trio - Crimson
My collection is quite small, only 55-60 CDs or so, and I have yet to pick up a Floyd, Beatles or Pixies CD, so my list will probably change.

Nevermind's weak spots are just individual songs. But songs like In Bloom are fantastic, and that's what gives it it's 'classic' title. In Utero doesn't have bad songs, but none of them are extremely strong. IMO, anyway.
Unplugged is superb, too. Lots of variety and their songs come alive without electricity.
Originally posted by GalaxyShieldYeah, that's the think that bothers me about Nevermind though, is that there are songs I really like right next to songs I could do without. I still enjoy the album as a whole, but I place most of the others on my list above it, but it's still great.

The stuff I've heard from Unplugged is pretty nice too.
