Interpol 'Antics', and i have to say i remain unimpressed after several listens. why do people rave about this band, and why the Joy Division comparisons? the singer sounds more like Stan Ridgeway than Ian Curtis...
However I concur that the Ian Curtis comparisons are unwarranted but that's not to say that his baritone is extremely lulling and fantastic...

Hi there Darv - i'm insanely busy preparing a PhD proposal, marking some first-year essays and other study-related stuff. on the good side, my g/f flew in from Nairobi last Tuesday. how 'bout you?
just to keep on-topic: i've just finished listening to disc 1 of the final Ziggy Stardust concert, and now i'm listening to Muse 'Absolution'...
EDIT: i just don't get the Interpol thing - but i haven't really sat down and listened to all the lyrics properly - musically it seems ok but nothing to rave about...
EDIT: it's probably about time to spring Electric Wizard on the g/f - all her stuff is African gospel/praise music, so it might come as a bit of a shock. still, she's familiar with a lot of my more abrasive stuff already, so perhaps not...
