Hervè le tellier: Die Anomalie (German translation orginal French, English translation available).

A really nice philosophical experiment and psychological study. And funny. My wife is looking for ward to read it, since I laughed so much...

I'm kind of reading "Three Magic Words" by Uell S. Andersen.

Interesting to learn that he was an NFL player and a competitive athlete in several other sports as well as a successful businessman and writer of fiction in his later life.

Wolfram Eilenberger: Die Zeit der Zauberer

A nice philosophical reflexion on the years 1919-1929 and how Cassirer, Wittgenstein, Benjamin and Heidegger went to change a lot of philosophical thought.

I have just finished:

Abdulrazak Gurnah: Das verlorene Paradies (orig. Paradise)

My wife brought that from the library and since we hadn't read anything from last year's Nobel winner I have read it now.
A well written novel with a n interesting take on the early 20th century.

Currently working through Adrian Tchaikovsky's biblio, on The Doors of Eden. Always good to find a new, quality SF author, would recommend if I cared at all.

Have you read anything by Marty Reynolds or Phil Bangkock? I find them more erudite and challenging than that Tchaikovsky dude, but unfortunately their biblios aren’t commercially available (out of print.) You have to know someone who knows someone to get a copy or have good luck at a bookstore that specializes in rare, out-of-print books.

I think Phil’s estate may be trying to reprint at least some of his books and will let you know if that happens.

Seems that these authors are very obscure, normal research methods yield no hits for me.

Cold you write down at least a title, preferably an ISBN?

"A ROARING IN THE WIND" by Robert Louis Taylor
I'm actually reading it again. I would call it satirical humor in the style of Mark Twain.
The story takes place during the gold rush era of the wild west in the US.

I have heard of neither, and can find no trace of either on-line.

You say you enjoyed The Doors of Eden? This surprises me, considering your attitude towards evolution, which is, as you're obviously aware, the central theme of the novel. How did you feel about the giant, sentient trilobites?
