To those who use the "Book" pieces... why do you prefer them over the "Newspaper" pieces?

I think the book pieces look more like those wooden fold up boards with the tall pieces like they sell over the border in Mexico, where the pieces take up almost the entire square, and I find that hard to see what is where. I prefer the classic green and beige paper or vinyl boards with the smaller, plastic, more well-proportioned pieces like you see used in most OTB chess tournaments where the pieces only take up like a third of the square, with a lot more space around each piece.
So I guess that's why I prefer the Newspaper pieces. Interestingly, I never even noticed the space difference between these two sets until you mentioned it.
