I don't have guilty over what the WHITE race allegedly did during their glorious conquest of the world. Hell, we've ALL benefitted!
So there you go.
There is no "us" that white society makes feel guilty or embarrassed. There is just me - and you. I am embarrassed that here we are in 2007 and white men still spew the sort of ignorance that comes in your posts.
I so look forward to the day when all the races are all mixed up. Just people. Just brothers and sisters and the family of man. I am only sorry it won't happen in my lifetime.

Stregone also replaced his picture on his profile with a picture of Anton Szandor LaVey.
I kind of like it - at least it is honest.
Can't say I cotton much to what old Stregone has to say - but give him credit - you know where he is coming from.
Quoted from the link above ...
Anton Szandor LaVey, born Howard Stanton Levey (11 April 1930 – 29 October 1997) was the founder and High Priest of the Church of Satan as well as a writer, occultist, musician, and actor. He is the author of The Satanic Bible and the founder of LaVeyan Satanism, a synthesized system of his understanding of human nature and the insights of philosophers who advocated materialism and individualism, for which he claimed no "supernatural inspiration”. LaVey viewed "Satan" not as a literal deity or entity, but as a historic and literary figure symbolic of Earthly values.

Im a man of wealth and taste
Ive been around for a long, long year
Stole many a mans soul and faith
And I was round when jesus christ
Had his moment of doubt and pain
Made damn sure that pilate
Washed his hands and sealed his fate
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guess my name
But whats puzzling you
Is the nature of my game
I stuck around st. petersburg
When I saw it was a time for a change
Killed the czar and his ministers
Anastasia screamed in vain
I rode a tank
Held a generals rank
When the blitzkrieg raged
And the bodies stank
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guess my name, oh yeah
Ah, whats puzzling you
Is the nature of my game, oh yeah
I watched with glee
While your kings and queens
Fought for ten decades
For the gods they made
I shouted out,
Who killed the kennedys?
When after all
It was you and me
Let me please introduce myself
Im a man of wealth and taste
And I laid traps for troubadours
Who get killed before they reached bombay
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guessed my name, oh yeah
But whats puzzling you
Is the nature of my game, oh yeah, get down, baby
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guessed my name, oh yeah
But whats confusing you
Is just the nature of my game
Just as every cop is a criminal
And all the sinners saints
As heads is tails
Just call me lucifer
cause Im in need of some restraint
So if you meet me
Have some courtesy
Have some sympathy, and some taste
Use all your well-learned politesse
Or Ill lay your soul to waste, um yeah
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guessed my name, um yeah
But whats puzzling you
Is the nature of my game, um mean it, get down
Woo, who
Oh yeah, get on down
Oh yeah
Oh yeah!
Tell me baby, whats my name
Tell me honey, can ya guess my name
Tell me baby, whats my name
I tell you one time, youre to blame
Ooo, who
Ooo, who
Ooo, who
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Oh, yeah
Whats me name
Tell me, baby, whats my name
Tell me, sweetie, whats my name
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who

Also - I'll bet anyone here at Red Hot Pawn that old Stregone isn't quite as white as he would like us all to believe.
I have $50 American that says you go back a few generations - and our boy has a little of the black or brown or maybe even American Indian blood running through those oh so pure and bigoted veins.
Great-grandma maybe knew a slave a little too well? Great-great-grandpa was known to partake on occasion in the forbidden love of the local Indians?
Tell us Streggy ... do you doth protest too much?

Have you ever said this to Bad wolf, who's in the same age range, or any of the other chess players in this age range? Would you even call it HOOP with Ark13 or BW or abejnood or EcstremeVenom? Do you think you know what their shoes look like? I personally have no cl ll or not. This is what racism is, making assumptions about a person based on their race.
Is it bad that that's the thing that offended me of all that was said in this thread?
Can you believe I just used the word "that" four times in one sentence? Neither can I.

That is, I don't mind that people recognize Puerto Rican cuisine, music, dance or general aspects of
culture. What I object to is the idea that such parades celebrate difference rather than the
more noble goal of celebrating sameness. All cultures are roughly as interesting as each other --
Irish dance is about as interesting as German dance as interesting as Chinese dance and so forth.
Cuisines are a matter of exposure and comfort, largely. How one dresses, what one does in their
spare time -- these are all really neat things and should be studied, documented, and generally
recognized.
But what's lost in doing so is the recognition that we're all human. And, lamentably, my experience
with Puerto Rican Day parades end up going from 'I'm proud to be Puerto Rican' to 'I'm sure glad I'm
not Domincan!.'
I am equally interested in all cultures, although I'm more comfortable with the ones closest to me,
naturally. The niceties I group up with in social interaction, use of free time, and so on, are just
coincidences. They seem natural to me, but I know they're just as artificial as another ethnicity's is.
That having been said, the concept of a 'White Race' is a silly one. You don't have to go back more
than fifty years to find all sorts of so-called White Folk hating each other on the basis of their land of
origin. I've seen Italian Roman Catholic churches built right next German ones built right next to
Irish ones built right next to Ukrainian ones, all because the one 'white' group couldn't stand to be
in the presence of God with another 'white' group. Talking about a 'white' race is like talking about
a 'Latino' race. There isn't one. Puerto Ricans are totally different than Peruvians who are totally
different than Columbians and so on.
So, to say that 'whites' conquered the world is really quite silly, because the 17th-century French would
have just as soon spit on the 17th-century English before they'd admit to being colleagues.
So, if you want to celebrate 'Western European Day,' I suppose I'd be just as indifferent to your
celebration as I am to 'Puerto Rican Day,' but 'White Day' is just post-modernist, revisionist claptrap.

being merely 1/8 non-white was enough to oust you from many white-centered communities.

Can you believe I just used the word "that" four times in one sentence? Neither can I.
etc.
Ok I have got to say this... Yes the "dude" (can't or do not feel like remembering his name) expresses himself in a very questionable manner. That being said, I agree that in these generations of "minorities" often the "majority" leaves himself out without noticing the consequences of his actions. Let me explain. There is a a month for African American culture. I commend it. There is a day for different cultures to celebrate their heritage...nothing wrong with that. I also believe that if a White man wants to celebrate his "whiteness" or his pure European background or whatever...who are we to judge or even care! I am proud of being a white male. I am proud to have italian blood. Does that make me a biggit? Hope not! Simple question : How and what do you tell a child that learns there is a month for his African-American friends to delve in their rich and cherrished culture but not for him because he doesn't have dark skin...Maybe a day for being proud of being White would make him better understand that there should be no differences because of colour. The past is the past; all races, cultures and religions have been persecuted one time or another for so and so reason...ALWAYS UNJUSTIFIABLY!!! Let us learn from this and NOT make the same mistakes...Stegon or whatever should not be ashamed of what he first wrote (the second part with the shoes and the basketball was "questionable" but also kinda funny...hey now Europeens are dominating in that tooπππ ) Ok enough joking, I hope every man and woman live in peace and be proud of who they are...White, Black Asian, Indian...For the equal part NO we are not all equal; many factors come to play in this including hereditary...but we all have the power to be the best "me" we possibly can, and personnally that is all I ask from my fellow man...(Oh no I didn't say or woman; get out the bats people I'm a sexist! )π To conclude, yes some people are racist; let's not castigate them but rather pray for thier souls, or if you do not believe in that then think of how it must emotionally affect their lives to hate in such a way. Ok I have said my two cents, good day fellow chessplayers!
