I have to say Mel B annoys me cause I am calling him a Geordie tart on another thread.
Bowmann still has me guessing cause he had posted some very denigrating threads on the chess forum but then they were also kinda funny!!
MelB is funny too but just not ha ha funny. [I think he is trying to emulate Avid Merrion's charicature of MelB on Bo' Selecta.]
As for Stang and Blindfaith I have yet to peruse their own particular brand of drivel.

A lot of the posters names comming up seem to only agitate , proselytize , and inflame , with little constructive imput save for their personal agenda . And while they have a right to do so , it doesn't win them any brownie points amoung the larger population .

I also accept them as people . If I were made King Of It All tomorrow I would not be lining them up against a wall to be shot or supressing their right to speak their minds . Do I want to insult them ? Hell yes . If they're insensitive , rude , racist ,etc. , I want to insult them in the harshest manner possible . I want to verbally beat them back into a corner .

What I'm getting at is that if you just insult them for the insulting, then you're no better than them.
If you want them to see what you consider their errenous ways, you have to think about what you wish to achieve and then think of a method to achieve it.
generally insulting people doesn't help, no matter what the goal.

There is, however, a distinct difference between taking the piss out of a person and ganging up on someone deliberately.

Ps - Notice that since the religious forum was seperated from debate , I rarely cross swords with any religious posters . My taking umbrage with them , and going after them was not as much a reaction to their beliefs as it was their attempts to hijack any and every thread possible as their own personal pulpit . I rarely have at posters like STANG or SVW , as they use the appropriate forums/threads to express themselves . If I was a mob aggitator , I'd be hounding them with tar and feathers on the debate and spirituality forums . I don't . So where's the "deliberate ganging" here ?

The thread drifted on to some of the unpopular posters . I mused about whether we'd get mod-ed if a top 5 annoying posters contest/vote took place . If I had started a new thread titled " Vote for your top 5 most annoying people on rhp" ; that would have been a clear call for naming dislikable people .
Did you take it seriously when Joe Fist was talking about using a cheese grater on someone's grion ? Why not ? What about "spleen beatings" ?
Lighten up Shavi , and quit trying to bust my chops with something that's nothing . (There's plenty of stuff I have done that you should be busting my sack with that's going to waste !)
