I don't believe "Dark Energy" exists. Something else may be responsible for accelerating the expansion of the Universe.

Dark energy
Feature: May 2004

New evidence has confirmed that the expansion of the universe is accelerating under the influence of a gravitationally repulsive form of energy that makes up two-thirds of the cosmos

when i shut my eyes i do not see darkness ... i see colours and patterns and stuff.

i have to stop my brain using my eyes to actually see darkness, the eyelids are not enough ... i hope this is normal (i was called normal once)

Have you never used a black lightbulb?

Seriously, though, you're quite wrong to suppose that because something is "dark" it emits no light. What about infra-red radiation, for instance?
