On the surface, the only major new feature they've introduced is the Windows Sidebar. Which is just an optional bar down the right side of the desktop that you can add little gadgets to (ie: RSS feeds, clocks, mini games, system tools, calenders, weather, traffic reports), kind of like FF extensions really. Beyond that, all the other changes are behind th ...[text shortened]... nly not worth the extortionate price M$ are charging for it. If it's free than go for it.
Afterwards i supposedly need to update the driver for my realtek audio(whatever that means), and vistas will screw with about 6 of my programs and my...WAN miniport (?????)
Is it really worth it.

"Well, first and foremost, it just isn't Linux. Secondly, well, what do you expect? It's just Microsoft rubbish. Thirdly, Linux is much better. Also, it just can't be good, just look at XP. Did I mention that it's intrinsically bad because it isn't Linux?"

Yes, of course I've tried Windows Vista. In my line of work you have to
deal with these systems as they are without a doubt the most popular OS's
out there. That doesn't mean I have to like the crap. 😛

what do you mean by less user-friendly? by the little I've seen, the interface looks far superior in that respect?
Some people also like minimal interfaces which is why they often use linux and a bash/c/whatever shell.
That said, from my trials, I see little reason to upgrade if you have XP.

turning my stomach around. It's not like MS is coming out with anything new
and truly exciting or anything. If you look at it, you'll see that most of the
features in any MS software is directly or indirectly taken from innovative and
inspiring sources (such as open source software).
Yes, at times Open Source has been known to copy some of the few original
things MS has come up with, which is sad. But, what can I say, it isn't me. 😀
