You're going to a baseball game in the bronx. Under no circumstances should you be sober at any time, let alone stay sober.

Try and sit next to Alex Rodriguez' wife. She usually wears something provacative. You will have a good chance of being seen on TV because they follow her around like cats stalk mice.

The Yankees have a day/night doubleheader that day against Tampa Bay. Which game is yours? The Bronx is safe enough at 1 p.m. but it pays to be alert after dark. And there's no need to explore the neighborhood.. the 161st St. subway station is right outside the stadium.

Thanks for the advice, staying off Times Square, I'm assuming that the subway would be best form of transport to the game???

The subway is usually OK. I would like it better alone (with male friends) than with my wife/girlfriend - but that is just me.

Hiring a car (like taking a cab, but a little more expensive) is the best if you can afford it.

It's the afternoon game, by the sounds of it, thank god....
Have no intention to explore the neighbourhood on this occasion!!!!!!
The seats look great, but what is it with american ticket agencies that they want to earn more per ticket than the Yankees themselves????

The B hat is Boston, Boston Red Sox (my team of choice)

They are NY's rival.

A lot of people are acting like you might get killed in NY, I don't think you need to worry. I live a couple hundred miles North, and my wife goes quite often.

If you did wander into the wrong town somehow, there may be a problem I guess, but for the most part... people don't realize NY is alright, they've watched too many movies about the place or something.

I've no problem with anything south of Central Park just heard of some bad rumours about the Bronx, especially being a Brit. Went out to Meadowlands a couple of years ago for a Giants game and the people couldn't of been more friendly... I'm not anti americans, far from it, but if I was to visit London there be areas I'd avoid like the plague!!!!
By the way I didn't know Reading had such a reputation.... he he!!!!
