Seriously though, what are you all on about? It's not even halloween yet, and why is darvley using past tense. He could be referring to ANYTHING.

I don't like wearing halloween costumes many days before halloween you know. 😞

I have never worn a Halloween costume in my whole life.

Well I don't remember guys doing it but my freinds and I would dress up as sintrinians (can't spell as ya know) witches and other costumes. It was just for a laugh when we were going to the town for an evening out.
When I was your age actually but then they let girls in the clubs young if they are with a man or in a group.

Thanks for the explanation. I am not very familiar with Halloween customs, it's a pretty new thing in Germany and Norway.
That's odd, since it's a Celtic thing, and the Norse/Germanics have long had an intimate association with the Celts.

Dia de los Muertos combines Aztec traditions with the Spaniards' Catholic traditions, specifically All Souls Day. I don't know where the costume idea comes from, though.

I went to a party a number of years ago as a homeless person. It was a pretty inexpensive way to dress up. I was dragging around a big bagd of aluminin cans. However the best part of my costume (inspired by a real life homeless person I saw) was the bugger hanging out of my nose. I got a sirloin steak and trimmed off the side of fat that it has on it. Then I fried it up so it was real glissony. Then I crammed it way up in my nose, but it still hung down about 6 inches. It was disgusting.

You can see from the name that it's not Aztec, Mayan or even Spanish. "Halloween" = "Hallowed Evening" - a phrase in English, which is a mix of an old Germanic tongue with Celtic, Latin, French and some other influences.

The original Gaelic holiday is known as Samhain.

The costumes were an early 20th century American addition.
