My first concert? No idea. I must have been a little kid.
My last concert was the Christmas matinée of the music school, where most of my students and myself were playing in the orchestra. The last one that was not work-related was a concert with a rather bad amateur choir and orchestra. It could probably have been a decent concert if they hadn't chosen a much too difficult programme. As it was, it was rather painful to listen to. But at least I got free tickets because they got to use one of my photographs for the poster.

My last concert was a week ago. Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra playing Stravinsky's "Rite of Spring" (Favorite piece of music of all time!) and Beethoven's 6th Symphony.
Before that the last one I paid money to see was the Dallas Wind Symphony at the MidWest International Clinic in Chicago. Best interpretations of Holst's First Suite and Shostokovich's "Festive Overture" I've ever heard. The U.S. Air Force Woodwind Quintet was great as well.
Wait, no there was another in between. Chicago Symphony Orchestra playing Strauss's "Alpine Symphony" followed by the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra with Mahler's Fifth Symphony.
Alright, I like this topic. Here's some past history for you.
First concert: Black Oak Arkansas in Billings Montana. I believe it was 1974 and the tickets could be bought at the local head shop for $4.50 in advance or $5.00 at the door. I believe Styxx (or Stinks if you prefer) was the backup band and they had a hit called "Lady" at the time. They sucked.
In 1978 I got to see Alice Cooper in Fargo N. Dakota. For the time it was a killer concert. We got there hours ahead of time. The springtime weather was perfect and we drank beer and tossed frisbees with everyone else in the parking lot.
The last two concerts I have been to have been Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. For my money they are simply the best band in rock and roll . Truely accomplished musicians who I love to see and hear. My wife treated me to my first TP concert on my 40th B'day and a couple of years later we saw him again with Jackson Brown who was the opening act. Both had just terrific bands. Tight and just the way you would want to hear them.
First concert was with my parents to see Roger Whittaker (not my choice!).
Last one was to see "Monkey Swallows The Universe" just over a couple of weeks ago. The gig wasn't all that great.
The one before was "The National" and before that was "Editors". Both of those were good.
Have a some more gigs lined up this year, which include Turin Breaks, Inspiral Carpets, Guillemots, Chemical Brothers and Radiohead.
