Russ,
The problem _MUST_ be on my side. I've run into the exact problem again, in game #144855. Mebbe it's my browser. I'm using:
Mozilla 1.0.1
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.0.1) Gecko/20021003
Build ID: 2002100315
Under Preferences/Scripts & Plugins, I've got everything checked.
What is a bit strange, is that I've found nothing else on this site that doesn't work, but it's not impossible that you've got some IE specific code in the draw refusal code?
Oh, one other strangish thing: It's always the same guy who is offering me draws, and caused another user (read above in this thread) the same problem. His user id is 'skinnybiscui', although the person above called him 'skinnybisqui'. Maybe he's found an exploit against your code, where if he offers a draw in such and such conditions, then he can hang the game, and not lose on a T/O. The reason I'm starting to suspect such a diabolical possibility, is that he _only_ ever offers draws when he's completely bust.
If you can see anything (or recommend a browser change) I'd appreciate it. If you need to know my next move, it's c8-d8.
TIA,
chippo
Originally posted by RussThere is no source available for IE or Opera. And both are payware 'in one form or another'. I will test with Netscape 7.x, when I find it. I currently see rpms for netskunk-4.75, but I will dig further.
Try using one of the following browsers:
Netscape 7.X
IE 6.x
or
Opera 7.x
All are free in one form or another (although you should pay for Opera if you use ít)
They should solve all your site problems. I do not test on Mozilla, but may well do so if other people come forward who use it.

However, I feel strongly that you _should_ test with mozilla. Firstly, it's completely open-source and cross platform. I know a dude who runs Windoze on his desktop, and actually chooses to run mozilla rather than IE. Secondly, most modern GNU/Loonix distributions have mozilla as the default browser (they have several browsers to choose from, but none from the list [IE, Netskunk, Opera]), and so in the future, more and more people will hit RHP with mozilla. Of course, though, they would find any problems, until they try to decline a draw offer.
Cheers,

I've just challenged you to an UNRATED game, to do some tests.
Accept the challenge, and try to decline my draw offer.
Mozilla 1.3a

However, that is (actually for me) good news. It means that if I upgrade to 20021212, things won't improve, and I must simply investigate the netskunk route.
It's also good news that there is nothing wrong with my:
- hardware
- OS (assorted flavours of Loonix)
- Mozilla 1.0.1
