I got a reply from a Microsoft support-engineer on my question, and he provided me a link for further assistance, but since i don't know the correct network information and i can't supply error messages, i suggest that you fill in the information yourself.

This thread has been (until now) about Microsoft's blocking of hotmail, outlook.com and other Microsoft email clients.
You're raising a problem involving gmail, which is Google - that's a whole new problem.
Seems it's back to the drawing board, Russ. 🙁
