I think it would be a shame if people just read their first 10 or so moves from a book without ever thinking. But some people might use RHP for pure correspondance chess where books are allowed and others prefer more 'real' chess.
Personally, I want to learn, which means I occasionally look up openings if I haven't seen them before, if I want to learn them, or if I do know them but I need to refresh my memory.
In other words, I use openings as a learning resource which will hopefully improve my over-the-board play.
Oh, I also use eudesign.com/chessops.
I've never used a database, and have failed in attempts to use opening books, so this might be a really stupid suggestion, but here goes: I agree that an opening database could be a good addition to the site, but don't make too easy.
If you have a button beside every game that you can click to be shown the next "best" move then you will have every person using it for every move until the database runs out (well, almost, you know what I mean). If however the database is on another screen & there is some (small) work & use of brain involved in using it (instead of the person blindly following the moves given) & it requires you to read and understand what you're doing, then the player will maybe learn both the opening & the reasons behind it. Looking at the Chess-ops site, something like this would be a real addition to RHP.
