An attempt to "scrape" the game explorer database in its entirety was causing general unresponsiveness on the web site (and apps).
You must now be logged in to use the game explorer, and further restrictions for full access will almost certainly be added in future to prevent similar occurrences.
@Russ saidAs a matter of interest, what does “scrape” mean in this context please?

Was it a hack of sorts?
@divegeester
By scraping, I mean targeting web sites then extracting the data you want that is embedded within the HTML.
A series of bots appeared to be attempting to download every game recorded in the game explorer. But rather than doing this in an ethical way (if that is possible), they blasted the site with traffic. (A "denial of service" attack, effectively.)
It did expose that the Game Explorer was a weak spot for this behaviour anyway.
edit : Not a hack, no.
@Russ saidPersonal info safe then?

This is just an attempted automated collection of publicly available games.
