White was apparently trying hard to win that game for he could have settled for the drawn earlier with 42. Bf8+ Kg8 43. Qh6. He was in position for his own mating attack and might have won if he had played 48. Kh2 instead of the blunder that allows 49. Bxg2+, which he apparently did not see until after the move. I know that feeling.
