The only concern I have about mossgroup is if he took his inflated rating into real games.
I have played him in real games in tournaments, and did not find it to be much of a challenge as his real rating is somewhere between 1000 and 1100. My wins did not impact my rating.
But if during this tournament he shoots his rating up to 1500, then my win counts more.
Why is this bad for me? Because when I lose to a 1200 legit it hurts my rating more!! 🙄

That's the whole thing about a player who cheats. Regardless of if they play normal games or just shoot up the rankings playing with themselves.
Either way they hurt us. mossgroup is giving out points to players who didn't earn them, messing up their ratings. And why Paul0 would keep him in his clan is just a mystery to me.
pakaya is messing it up for most all of us, most people in the top 20... and poor Jira who is no longer in the top 20. Even my ranking is screwed up since pakay and mossgroup make extra accounts.
I really hope Russ will try to figure out a way to handle this, I think it is almost top priority to find these people... warn them... and deter people from doing it in the future.

While this is a very fast rise, I don't see any reason to suspect that anything else than a looser with nothing to do for a day, a great number of accounts and a little planning is required to produce the sort of a meteoric rise that pakaya has come up with.
Thinking that the administrators were "in on it" seems like one of the most implausible conspir ...[text shortened]... that this sort of a sudden rise with false acounts could not be missed by site users.

Tell you something - this lady is seriously considering with-holding her shortly due subscription until there is some resolvement to this issue.
Considering the amount of Tourney games I am involved in I could play a whole year for nothing! easily!! So get it sorted.

We've seen "players" like these before. They are called 'Figs', so named in honor of "three figs", the first player to employ this strategy. Sometimes Russ resets their ratings to 1200, sometimes he doesn't. From what I've seen, Russ will take action if enough of us get pissed about a particular instance of artificial rating inflation. If you want to make sure he knows that this is going on with "pakaya", then send Russ a personal message.

Ravello and I are OK, now he has stopped trying to devise ways to time me out😉 and all things considered, he does have a valid grizzle. Top 20 OR newbie rating, the likes of the 'mossgroup's and pakaya's' should not be tolerated on this site and the reluctance and/or inability of the admin. to deal with these protenscious infractors expeditiously, really really annoys me, and I have already threatened to with-hold my upcoming subscription renewal in another forum, unless we get some form of redress.

This whole affair presents a bug: in the FAQ it is stated that both players have to have played at least two moves before a new rating is calculated. Pakaya has evidently not done this. A large clamour to Russ to fix this!

If you really consider this a matter of such urgency, then drop Russ a polite note saying so, pointing him to the relevant threads. I think it is the experience of most people on the site that Russ and Chriss respond quickly to feedback, and take action when needed. In my experience, they do their utmost to ensure a good gaming experience to the users of this site. I think that the level and speed of updatating, improvements, and new ideas on this site is commendable, second to no site I've used. Moreover, the membership fee is very reasonable. I simply cannot undestand your eagerness to discredit the people behind it.
