resigning over the loss of a knight is childish
Originally posted by ark13Quite. Given my opponent's rating, it would have been pointless.

It was a bad day for "at work" blunders - see also
Game 1450656
(White move 21. No comments, please, since the game is in progress.)
If it's any excuse at all it was a big day at work and my mind really was elsewhere.
Originally posted by ark13Piece down games can be great fun. You have to be more agressive and take more risks, while also being rock solid defensively. Some of my favourite games are ones where I went something down and came back to win. So I'd never expect someone to resign, or ask me to resign in a piece down game. I know that's not what you are saying, but just thought I'd weigh in with an opinion on the topic in general.

Please don't tell me you guys are nuts enough to play chess at work or school? Chess isn't like solitaire to pass time beteewn shifts/classes and remove stress, you actually have to work at it, it's like work, it's just as hard, and if you do school/work and chess simultaneously, sheesh, you will fail at both and your lives will stink. I know it's addictive, but for the sake of your life, finances, marriage, girlfriend, sex, children, family, etc, do not play chess at work! Maybe we should create a chessoholics anonymous to stop this?
Originally posted by UmalakasPerhaps the media forced them to do it. There's something suggesting that idea built right into this site, yet I can't quite put my finger on it. Chess at work? What a dumb idea. 😉
