Not sure if the girl posting the position had it right but it LOOKED like white checked the king at the end right next to it and Karpov could have just taken the queen but instead moved back to a square still under check.
Did anyone else see that? I don't think Karpov's clock ran out.

Wasn't it, is that not the way chess should be played? Unbelievable game, the most touching aspect was Spasskys modesty at the end, he acknowledged the crowds cheers and simply waved to say it was nothing, an awesome dude! Karpov was chillingly not perplexed!

Hi sonhouse, here is the full score, an eighty four mover,

Naturally in the final position, black must give away his queen or suffer mate after ...Kd7 Nc5+

Thanks, cleared up that question. So after the king moves, it's check with knight and the king has no haven and the only move left for black is queen take knight, obviously a loser, 9 move mate, so it was resign time. Anyone know the final result of that match? One hour each on the clocks.

I can only find that game and the first one and Karpov won the first game. I posted the video to that game in the thread "Karpov's Endgame Technique".

I was sad in the end. Which one is the younger guy? I wanted him to win.
