1. f3! e5?? 2. Kf2!! d5??
What kind of lines do you recommend next for white?
I have a few thoughts, but I'm no expert.
First 3. Ke3!! Having the king in the center of the board is better than any pawn since the king can attack in all directions.
I was also thinking 3. Qe1! (Decoy Opening) with the hopes of confusing the opponent into thinking that the Queen was actually the King, and then sailing to an easy victory.
Are there any obvious refutations to these lines?

I think most beginers underestimate the power of the king, i personally think it should be developed toward the centre....
clearly, this stratgedy is a kick arse one, however communist propaganda give it a bad rep.

I have played oddies like this several times now, and I must say, i find it very funny how so many are willing to trade peices.
Hi everyone,
Concerning the idea of choosing openings for your first "bag-o-tricks," I've been somewhat recently swayed by the idea of studing four openings, two in general favoring each color.
Of these openings, one in each pair would be fairly standard, the other would be an unorthodox one just to have some fun with and learn relatively obscure nuances of the game.
In my own example, for standard openings, I chose the Ruy Lopez for White and the Sicilian Dragon for Black. I'm undecided for the unorthodox openings, but I'm leaning toward either the Reti or Bird's opening for White, and either the Scandinavian or Slav for Black.
Any thoughts?
Originally posted by RistarI'd say if you want a somewhat unorthodox opening that the Hammerschlag works well. It really teaches the subtle "nuances" of the game.
