Anyhow, the Dutch Leningrad is an excellent recommendation from Wormwood - it's become a new favorite of mine. Be careful, though, there are some very, very tricky tactics because there is no longer a pawn on that f7 square. Here's a game where white had a chance to gain a nice advantage through tactics, but missed it. (I missed it too, Crafty showed me the devastation that could have occurred in my post-mortem.)

16...Kh8? is a bad blunder, see if you can spot how white gains the advantage. 16...Rc8 gives black a very comfortable position.

Dutch Leningrad is not bad choice for agressive player. I use it sometines in blitz (with not bad results) and also in some RHP games (all of them are in progress).

BUT - It`s not for everyone.

Why hilarious? That can confuse your opponent, which should be the main goal of an opening in bullet.

That's true. I suspect that Byron Jacobs did 100% of the research and about 90% of the writing.

Some of Keene's early books were excellent, I've been told. His "Nimzovich: A Appraisal", is considered a classic by many lovers of chess literature.

ha! 17. Nxd5 Bxd5 18. Bc3 and the piece drops I think, nice! wouldn't have seen it either...

but why take that d5 and open up? it was a nice plug frustrating white's invasion. 🙂 you had the center nicely blocked, and should've just stormed his king. that's what it's all about! 🙂
