The difficulty with 1.b4 in a democratic game like this is that only a few people know how to play it, whereas most people know how to play 1. e4 and 1. d4 openings, if we are going to do this - the guy's rated 1174 but that's no reason not to - then it should be possible for everyone eligable to make sensible suggestions. I'd recommend also that the rating cap of 1850 be reduced to a more realistic 1350.
