(In the 'Oxford Chess Companion' he is named as Petroff.)

He's the lad after whom the Petrov (or Petroff) Defence is named.

During my last RHP BBQ I tried to castle a rook through an attack and all 3 RHP members said I couldn't. Interesting how 1 person can be right, 3 wrong and there I am making a crappy move when I could have castled.

(Castling would have been a crappy move too, but that's not the point!)

ps... yes I will bring this up every time the subject comes about about castling.
