Actually...I believe black should win this one fairly easy.

As a matter of fact....mate is coming soon! Be patient...your opponent has quite a surprise in store for you! 🙂

That was stupid, I can´t believe I lost that after I was so sure it was a draw. 🙁

Well, at least I am passing to the next stage in this tourney..

Refer Dvoretsky's Endgame Manual. 🙂

In a position where my opponent has drawing chances but (virtually) no winning chances, I always force them to prove the draw.

that's a total bummer situation, though. I'm surprised your opponent managed to pull off the win, actually. I mean, going to the edge and the bishop thing were errors, but it took some subtlty to see the bishop/mate fork.

A good lesson for those who demand draws or resignations from their opponents.

Tip for defending R vs B ending: head for a corner not controlled by your bishop. The idea is then to use your bishop to block rook checks and set up a stalemate position.

eg Ka8, Bc7 vs Ka6, Rh5. If Rh8+, Bb8 forces the rook or king to retreat to avoid stalemate. If it's the defender's move, Bb8 still works well since Rh8 is stalemate.

Of course the player with the rook should be trying to stop his opponent's king reaching a 'safe' corner...

B v R is a known draw... why dont you study? If you did, maybe you could see how to draw a B v R endgame...

To all of the people that still don´t understand:
When I posted this game it was still in progress, but since some time past the game is now over. so I know it is not a draw

The post was made at Black's 38th move. Any lines that win from there? Don't see how you can stop the King from reaching h1 with an easy draw.
