Various Responses to Various Questions
I guess my self-compiled comment wasn't the most clear. I wasn't suggesting that people use databases constructed of only their own games (although that does have a place in analysis [if you play a certain opening and lose every time that tells you something important]). I was suggesting that people don't just buy ...[text shortened]... d I suspect that's how much work went into it) and also about the interface itself.

Well I have chessbase light, but am a newb, so I don't really know where to find DB's to put into it :/.
I normally get file 4 (pgn version) and then just copy paste the partial databases into my main one (select the databases in the database viewer [the bit with the icons] and drag them into the open database you wish to copy them into). After you do that you'll want to run the find doubles tool (right click on the database icon and go to tools -> find double games, the default settings should be fine).
Now if you want to use it analyse you go right click and go to properties and tick the Reference tickbox. Now if you open the reference database pane (Shift+R while looking at a board) you can search for the current position with a single button press.

But I still have a question. Ok in the file I downloaded I found 4 games with the opening that I want. What I'd like to do with these 4 is copy them, then create a new DB, then paste ONLY these 4 games into this new DB. Anybody know how to do this?
