when i was 17 i saw the movie "searching for bobby fischer." went online and looked up josh waitzkin and saw he was associated w chessmaster. bought the program and went through all of the classroom stuff and 3 months later i went 5-0 in a scholastic otb tourney. i played for a year then didnt play for 4 years. here i am now on this site after about 2 months and my rating is 1600s so im definitely motivated to be better.
edit: i literally lost 127 online games straight before i won a game.
