I met two 2000+ players in blitz room, all of two dropping material, opening with e3 or so.... Interesting .... 😛
Originally posted by wormwoodI had two nice wins against 1700's in a row, both with the ponzain. This shows it does not mean much.
there's nothing wrong in opening with e3 in blitz. I've played even a sort of mirrored dutch leningrad castling long and it worked okay. anything weird goes in blitz, there's just no time to 'refute' anything.
Originally posted by ivan2908the only thing it tells is that his CC rating is 2000, nothing else.
Yes, but someone with 2000+ plays like 1000 it does tell something about his CC rating...
a couple of months ago my blitz rating was 1200. now I'm just about to cross over 1400. and that's after 2000 games.
blitz has nothing to do with CC, it's a completely different game.
Originally posted by ludzI dont have trouble finding them at all, i just played a few games against Fat Lady and I believe he is over 2100.
Its rare to see someone over 1500 in the bltz room.
I also occaisonally have battles with Heinzkat, Arrakis, SlyArmenian,Wittywonka,Exigensky and my main man Androu.
(Most of em well over or around 1900)
Big up to all of you for the interesting games and chat.
You guys make the blitz sessions great experiences.
Originally posted by wormwoodnot THAT different. Blitz ratings on internet chess sites are opposite to inflated (I don't know how it's called 😛). So your 1200 blitz it is not so bad. You didn't see those games I am talking about because otherwise you would understand what I mean. Playing CC is, errr.... more comfortable, it gives you the time to think how to win...

It must be fifteen years since I last visited the place. There was no-one to play against when I arrived so the waitress challenged me to a game and came damn near to beating me!
Originally posted by sannevssrI lost narrowly on time to markspindler as I had 5 pawns to his 2 but he had dangerous attack. There are players over 1500 but they the exception rather than the rule.
