Had my first OTB game of the season this week, and lost to a 12 year old girl. On the plus side, I didn't feel like a nerd afterwards .. just a cross between embarrassed shell-shock and self-recrimination after an attrocious blunder.

Moral of the story: nothing wrong with being a nerd, as long as you're good at it 😳

Lost to a 12 year old girl? OK, I won't play in an OTB competition for at least three more years. Losing to my wife was bad enough.

You may be sorry, but I never said it made me any less geeky, just relatively not as geeky as those folks. I embrace my inner geek! It allows me to truly enjoy Chess, Sci-fi, MMORPG's and such.
