Of course,
I guess most people here play either on ICC, FICS or Playchess. Many have a handle on multiple sites. Level of competition is maybe too weak for the top 1 % (i.e. 2200+) but for us humble patzers FICS is just as good as ICC/Playchess.

I am in the same boat as you except that my main interest is in slow games where lag has never been a problem. I use Playchess mostly these days mainly because on average it takes less time to find an opponent. Lately I have had several opponents play 2 or 3 moves then start requesting a draw and had one opponent prompting me to move faster in a 30/30 game. Sh ...[text shortened]... re interfaces have a sought graph so you'd think the mighty Chessbase could come out with one.
I almost never use the seek graph at FICS, instead using the list (which is much like the playchess list). I have sometimes clicked too slow and ended up in the wrong game. In such cases request abort is more sensible than request draw.

I play blitz on FICS using BabasChess, and it is excellent for a free site. I don't play anything over 5 mins though, because I went 4-0 in 15/0 there and my rating shot to 2050. Part of me likes the cool look of having a rating over 2k, but the rest of me knows that the slower ratings just seem inflated. Regardless, I like the site for free chess, and I can only afford 1 subscription service...

He's played 8 blitz games on FICS, and 3 Lightning games.
(He's there for bug, where's he played over 5000 games.)

I love Babas. I wish Playchess would auto-log my games to a db the way babas does on FICS.
there seems to be a lot more idiots on ICC as well, and the kibitzing is just worthless. I've started to watch relayed games/kibitz on fics with the icc radiostream on background just because of that. on fics people at least pay attention to the game, and you can easily right click censor if some idiot insists on talking about 'toiletgate', michael jackson, jet fighters or whatever.
