I think Leko, Topalov, and Anand are favourites but you can't count out Kramnik when he is in form.
If Topalov plays at his best I think he will win. Anand is great and should be the other favourite by default.
Kasim is the current KO Champion and will be tough but shouldn't win this one.
I am not sure if anyone agrees with me but Topalov on his game is the best in the world. Almost like Kasparov. The only reason he isn't the champion is that he is not consistent enough. He tends to play subpar at times and can be both brilliant and awful in the same tournament.
I stand corrected on the Kramnik comment. It was nice of you to point it out. Most would have just ignored the comment and moved on. But you were obviously concerned that I might make the same comment again and risk sounding completely innocent when it comes to chess news. You took the time required to help out a fellow chess player. It was good of you. Many thanks.
Morozevich is a favourite of mine in terms of his style but I can't see his risky play winning the tournament. He might be a spoiler.
Svidler, Adams, and Polgar are of course great players. Adams being my favourite of that group. He will be in the top half of the group for sure. Kasimdzhanov will be tough but likely finish at the bottom. He is very strong but I think stamina was his major advantage or perhaps his nerves. I don't think it will be as important this time around.
I noticed in the pictures of the tournament on Chessbase there are very few spectators. If this were held in New York, I'd make every effort to get there to see what it's like in person, even tho it's about 100 miles away. I wonder if all the internet coverage is having a detrimental effect on spectator attendance.
