Whilst I can assume that there have been increases in multi-processor systems/dual cores, without buying new hardware how can I claw back some points? On the subject of Fritz 10 are there any updates other than the gui one?
My rating went drastically down as well, from 2600 down to the 2400's for a while. I think everyone is upgrading their PC's and there are a lot of quads now. Rybka 2.3 has also been released. When I obtained tablebases and a RAM upgrade to my PC, my rating jumped to 2707, (probably a result of being able to use more hash). Tablebases are a must now, and you have to have good settings.A good openings-book also helps. Try tweaking the default book a little.
