I know how your could keep people sneaking a look at the posts:
make a girls clan and a separate boys clan, then it could be
clan vs clan and you each would have private forums the other half
couldn't see. Unless someone out there is cross-playing๐
However non-subscribers will not be involved. Missed that out ๐
Who would nominate him/herself to start a thread "Girls vs Boys"?
And if everyone does appear to agree with sonhouse (which then i'll feel sorry for non-subs as they gave us the idea) then Annechristina would be best to create the girly clan.

You would also rule out anyone already in 3 clans.
There is no point to a Girls vs. Boys game just as there was no point to a RHP vs. Ironman or RHP vs. Fritz game. After the first couple of moves there are only a few players actually making any suggestions.
This combined with the fact that the Girls vs. Boys game has other issues which haven't been addressed; gender bias and no way of discussion without viewing from the other team being possible are just some among them.
Give it up people, it's a stupid idea.
Originally posted by blindcheesecakeActually, there are over 10 of them last I checked. Also, in most countries, among youth, girls are catching up somewhat. Look at the under 13 champions of most countries, there are girls listed there now. Will societal pressures of being a woman or a teenage girl get them off chess? Quite possibly, that's what Pandolfini complained about in frustration of trying to teach female students as they get older and better, they usually end up just quiting.
Boys are better. Name a female grandmaster. Few if any.
