Im not a huge fan of sicilian, but I do play it because it is very solid but one can run into king side trouble against the slav...

Provisional rating is the average of all the game ratings.

Ha! Im just a patzer, plus if I ever were to make a run for the #1 seed in RHP, it would be atleast a year from now. As I am way to busy to play chess online!
Also, how come you are able to have a forum picture and a profile picture when you haven't got a Members star?

1. e4 c5 2. Nf3 e6 3. d4 cxd4 4. Nxd4 g6 5. Nc3 Bg7 6. Be2 Nf6 7. 0-0 Nc6 8. Bg5 0-0 9. Qd2 Re8! 10. Bh6 Bh8!
Thats line has saved my game many times
9 ... bxc6 10. e5 or 9 ... dxc6 10 e5. Either way the knight at f6 is pinned and lost... and so is the game for black...
I'm surprised none of your many opponents saw it.
Originally posted by GatecrasherIf 8. Nxc6 (instead of Bg5) bxc6 9. e5 there is nothing pinning the Knight and it can go to d5. It's still not a great line (e6 with a Kingside fianchetto?) but it's not an immediate loss.
Fine. But how would you answer 8. Nxc6! ?

Originally posted by no1marauderGatecrasher said 9. Nxc6 which does indeed win. I'm guessing that when Tactical Play gave this line, he meant 2... d6.

EDIT: Oh, he must've edited it before I saw it.
Originally posted by GatecrasherGot it. 8 ...... O-O? is a blunder; Black either has to move his Queen (to a5 I suppose) or play h6. His position looks ugly either way.
My apologies. got my move numbers muddled. Its 9 Nxc6!
EDIT: In response to the above post, I was questioning playing both an early e6 AND a Kingside fianchetto.
