You were in check.... you did not get to force a perpetual check at all.At a glance you couldve played Qd2 to force a queen exchange but there is no perpetual check at all for you or your opponent.
Even after that I dont think you had it in the bag really.

Why resign against a 1200 player? After the queen exchange on e7 you could have castled and had a good chance.

Not really; after Qe7 there is Nc7+ and black is not going to last long here.

Instead of playing the horrible ...b6 try ...Nf3+?! which is complicated and ...Qe7!? which creates a lot of problems for your opponent and is also very complicated.

True, against you. Against lower players there is a much higher chance that it won't be played right. Nothing wrong with playing it out for a few more moves and see how it goes. Also, how can a player ever learn how to play endgames if he/she tends to resign early?

Playing in a lost endgame doesn't really teach you anything...that is unless your opponent is really good at endgames.

True but you assume it would be a lost endgame. The point is to make the opponent win and not to fold so early.

Yes, there may be legitimate reasons to play on. But I would say that on average, RHP players err on the side of resigning too late, not too early.

If your only hope of winning(/drawing) is for your opponent to make a huge mistake, that's just "hope chess", which isn't really the mindset you want to develop.

Just to let everyone know, I was white, and the lower rated player....

how were you white when it says that you were black? I think maybe you posted the wrong game. This is the game that you are talking about.

No... Black simply retakes the white Queen with the King (not the Bishop).

I agree, against a 1200 player, you resigned way too early.
