the most important thing is you should do some tactics regularly. preferably daily if possible.

yes chess emrald is THE place to solve problems because there you gotta solve fast. It is no matter how perfectly you solved a problem and calculated all main variations if you did spend 30 seconds of time. Only solving problems correctly AND fast is rewarded in chess emrald server.

EDIT: Well well...too much was too much and I became tired and slow. Tomorrow back to #1.

yeah. Thanks to my inactivity (last time solved nov. 05) my rating plumbed about 60 points after I failed to solve first one today. Well I will solve more soon, and I guess its 50-50 will I make it over 1800 or end up under 1700 at the end of the day. 🙂

On CD CT-Art is highly recomended. For free is chess tactics server (chess.emerald.net).
go to downloads tactical exercises.
Open them up with a chess prog. Solve them in your head and then run the engine and find the solution. Do at least 5 a day.
Note: 1/5 puzzles is wrong.
If you want the exact link check my getting to 1600 and 1400 threads. It's in one of them, 1600 one if i'm not mistaken.
