How can you go from 1750 to 1394?
Don't you know about the famous match between Korchnoi and Spassky? Korchnoi used his bishop and king to drive his opponent to the edge of the board and stalemate him.
I guess he was trying to send a message.
I was unable to find this game on chessgames, do you have a date?
Originally posted by arrakisI narrowed the search to all games between Spasky and Korchnoi that ended in draws and was unable to find it. Oh well... 🙁
No, but it was in the matches for the challenger to the World Championship many years ago. If you search thru Korchnoi's games you should find it.

Interesting game though.
Correct me if I am wrong but can't either player actually claim a win on time here according to FIDE rules as neither has sufficient mating material even against worst possible play. In which case if the "hand" falls the game would be a draw. That being the case is this rule implemented here because if it is then surely either side just needs to time out to draw.
Originally posted by Dragon FireInsufficient material isn't implemented here. Russ knows about this problem for a long time.

Maybe you can email russ and he can force a draw for you?

Hang in there Diet Coke, I think you have drawing chances!
Edit: Perhaps white will slip and take 24 hours and 5 minutes to move so Diet Coke can jump in and claim a well deserved win on time.
I've put User 62958 in my ignore list. I cannot be bothered to play opponents with this sort of approach to the game.
